Research Contribution: Novel IVUS Technique Published in JACC: Case Reports

I was pleased to contribute to the publication of our work in JACC: Case Reports, introducing a novel real-time intravascular ultrasound (IVUS)-guided technique for ostial coronary stenting.Treating blockages at the origin of a coronary artery is one of the most technically demanding procedures in interventional cardiology.

Accurate stent positioning is critical, as even small differences in placement can influence both immediate and long-term outcomes. Our technique enables operators to use real-time IVUS imaging during stent deployment, helping to improve procedural precision and reproducibility.

Innovation is an important part of my clinical practice. Collaborating with colleagues to develop practical techniques that can be adopted by other interventional cardiologists helps advance the field while ensuring patients benefit from contemporary, evidence-based care.
